Analyzing learner profiles in a microlearning app for training language learning peer feedback skills

Peer feedback can be described as the act of one learner evaluating performance another learner. It has been shown to impact student learning and achievement in language contexts positively. is a skill that trained, there have calls for research on peer training. Mobile microlearning type technology-enhanced which notable its short duration flexibility time place learning. This study aims evaluate how an asynchronous app might improve students’ skills providing spoken content context English foreign (EFL) education. used convenience sampling quasi-experimental single-group pre-/post- design. Japanese university students (n = 87) EFL course Pebasco practice skills. The usage data were identify five behavioral profiles. pattern profile migration over using indicates many participants improved or maintained desirable patterns behavior outcomes, suggesting positive quality second-language (L2) skills, well ability detect L2 errors. findings also suggest improvements made future design iterations. novel because current lack use no-code technology develop educational apps, particularly improving EFL.
